Scrip FAQ

**What Is Scrip? **

Scrip is a term that means “substitute money”.  When you purchase scrip, you’re purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for our organization.

**How scrip generates revenue **

The Scrip Program will purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers.  Because the scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount.  Our church buys the scrip at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to families like yours for full face value.  The discount ‑ from two to fifteen percent or more –  is our revenue.

**Scrip is "shopping cart fundraising”**

Scrip is a popular fundraiser because families don’t have to sell anything.  Organization members produce revenue by making regular household purchases they would make anyway.  Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with scrip.

$20,000 Goal Reached!

Your generous spirit and faith in God’s provision was proven again last Sunday! We were challenged with raising $20,000 to build the picnic pavilion and to provide electric to our property on State Route 430. We raised $22,000 in pledges! Praise the Lord! If you haven’t pledged yet, please do so! The more funds that are raised, the more work we can do on our property to prepare our future church! If you made your pledge last Sunday, THANK YOU for showing your commitment to the ministry of this church. What a blessing it is to have such faithful givers! Gerald Heflen and Dan Parker have wasted no time! They’ve already started making the calls to get permits and get the building started! Be sure to drive by to see the progress!

Summer Changes!

While our small groups will continue through the summer months, the Sunday evening Bible Study, led by Walter Jones, will be off until this Fall.

Teens will not have Sunday night DIG, however, watch for other special teen events throughout the summer!
